Tobago FastRide is a mobile application designed to connect users with reliable transportation services within Trinidad and Tobago. Our platform enables users to conveniently book taxi rides, track their trips, and make secure payments—all through a user-friendly app. By accessing or using Tobago FastRide and its services, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, which govern your use of the platform and your relationship with us.
We encourage you to read these terms carefully to understand your rights, responsibilities, and the scope of our services. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, please do not use the app. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of any updates or modifications to these terms.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Tobago FastRide mobile application ("the App"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions along with our Privacy Policy. These agreements form a legally binding contract between you and Tobago FastRide. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms & Conditions or the Privacy Policy, or if you are not of legal age to enter into binding agreements in your jurisdiction, please refrain from using our services immediately. Continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of any updates or modifications to these Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to update or change these terms at any time without prior notice, and it is your responsibility to review them regularly.
To use the Tobago FastRide app and access its services, you must be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater. By using the app, you confirm that you meet these age requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are under 18 or do not meet the age criteria, you are not authorized to use our services. Additionally, you agree to provide accurate and current information during registration and to update such information as necessary. We reserve the right to verify your age and identity, and to suspend or terminate access if it is later determined that you do not meet the eligibility requirements.
Tobago FastRide connects passengers with independent drivers through our digital platform to facilitate transportation services within Tobago. We act solely as an intermediary that enables the matching of riders and drivers; we do not own, operate, or control the vehicles or conduct of the drivers. Consequently, Tobago FastRide is not responsible for the actions, safety, or performance of individual drivers or the quality of their services.
Safety Measures:
We are committed to promoting safety for all users. Passengers are encouraged to review driver ratings and reviews before booking a ride and to adhere to safety guidelines provided within the app. We recommend verifying your vehicle's license plate and driver details and communicating directly with the driver through the platform. We also promote safe riding practices and recommend wearing seat belts at all times.
Dispute Resolution:
In the event of any issues, disputes, or concerns regarding your ride, safety, or conduct, users should address these directly with the driver through the app’s communication tools. Tobago FastRide is not responsible for resolving disputes between riders and drivers. However, if you believe there has been misconduct or a safety issue, please report it immediately through the app to assist us in taking appropriate actions.
Platform Responsibilities:
Our role is limited to providing the technology platform that connects users. We do not guarantee the availability, punctuality, safety, or quality of transportation services booked through our platform. We do not endorse or verify driver profiles beyond the information provided, nor do we guarantee the accuracy of any driver or vehicle information. Users acknowledge that their bookings are contractual arrangements solely with the driver, and we are not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses arising from these services.
As a user of Tobago FastRide, you agree to the following:
Accurate Information: Provide truthful, current, and complete personal details during registration and at all times when using the platform. You are responsible for updating your information as needed.
Legal and Respectful Use: Use the app solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Treat all drivers and other users with respect and refrain from any abusive, discriminatory, or harmful behavior.
Payment Obligations: Pay for your rides promptly using the available payment methods once the trip is completed. Failure to settle payments may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Booking and Cancellation: Make bookings responsibly and only when you truly intend to use the service. If you need to cancel a ride, do so promptly through the app to avoid penalties or misuse of the cancellation function. Excessive or inappropriate cancellations may lead to restrictions on your account.
Device and Account Security: Keep your login credentials confidential and secure. You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.
Reporting Issues: Inform Tobago FastRide promptly of any issues, misconduct, or safety concerns encountered during a ride to help us maintain a safe and reliable platform.
Drivers using the Tobago FastRide platform are required to:
Valid Licensing and Permits: Hold an up-to-date, valid driver’s license and all necessary permits, licenses, or registrations as mandated by local laws and regulations.
Vehicle Compliance: Ensure that their vehicles are in safe, roadworthy condition, properly maintained, insured, and meet all legal safety standards.
Professional Conduct: Conduct themselves professionally and courteously at all times, providing respectful and welcoming service to passengers. Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle environment.
Adherence to Traffic Laws: Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and local regulations to ensure passenger safety and compliance.
Operational Responsibilities: Accurately display and operate the vehicle’s identity features, ensure timely pickups and drop-offs, and communicate effectively with passengers through the app.
Safety and Courtesy: Prioritize passenger safety at all times, avoid distractions, and adhere to safe driving practices, including the use of seat belts and adherence to speed limits.
Reporting and Compliance: Promptly report any incidents, vehicle issues, or safety concerns through the platform and comply with all requests for background checks or verification processes.
Fares for rides are calculated based on the distance traveled, duration of the trip, and the applicable rates at the time of booking, as displayed in the Tobago FastRide app. You agree to pay the total fare in full upon completion of your trip, as accurately shown in the app.
Additional charges may apply under certain circumstances, such as waiting time, tolls, airport fees, or cancellations, in accordance with our policies. These fees will be clearly outlined and added to your fare before payment.
All payments are securely processed through third-party payment gateways integrated into the platform. Tobago FastRide does not store or have access to your credit or debit card details; these are handled securely by our payment partners.
Payment Methods:
We accept various payment methods supported within the app, including credit/debit cards, digital wallets, or other electronic payment options as offered at the time of booking.
Refunds and Disputes:
In case of billing errors or disputes, users should contact our customer support promptly. Refund policies are governed by our policies and third-party payment processor terms.
You may cancel a booking at any time prior to the driver arriving at the pickup location. To avoid charges, cancellations should be made promptly through the app once you decide not to proceed with the trip.
Please be aware that frequent cancellations, cancellations made at the last minute, or cancellations after the driver has already arrived may incur penalties or fees, in accordance with our policies. Repeated cancellations can result in temporary suspension or restrictions on your account to ensure fair use of the platform.
Cancellation Fees:
In certain cases, a cancellation fee may be applied, especially if the cancellation occurs after the driver has been dispatched or after a specified grace period. Details of applicable fees will be clearly communicated within the app at the time of cancellation.
Encouragement for Responsible Booking:
We encourage users to book rides only when they are certain they will need the service to help maintain reliable availability for all users and to avoid unnecessary charges or disruptions.
Tobago FastRide and its affiliates shall not be held liable for:
Personal Injury or Property Damage: Any injury, accident, or damage to personal property that occurs during a ride or in connection with the use of the platform, whether caused by the driver, other passengers, or external factors.
Service Delays or Interruptions: Any delays, cancellations, or service disruptions resulting from traffic congestion, weather conditions, technical failures, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Loss or Theft of Personal Items: Any items lost, stolen, or damaged within the vehicle or during the ride. Passengers are responsible for safeguarding their belongings.
Third-Party Conduct: Any misconduct or actions of drivers, passengers, or third parties not under our control that may impact safety or service quality.
Use at Your Own Risk:
Your use of our platform and services is entirely at your own risk. We do not guarantee the safety, timeliness, or reliability of rides, nor do we accept liability for any damages, injuries, or losses incurred while using the service, except where explicitly required by law.
Indemnity:
Users agree to indemnify and hold Tobago FastRide harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from their use of the services, including any violations of these Terms & Conditions or applicable laws.
Tobago FastRide reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time and without prior notice if we find that you have:
Violated These Terms & Conditions: Breached any of the provisions outlined in our agreements, policies, or guidelines.
Misused the Platform or Services: Engaged in activities such as fraudulent bookings, unauthorized use of accounts, or attempting to manipulate fares or ratings.
Engaged in Fraudulent or Abusive Behavior: Conduct that includes scams, harassment, threats, defamatory remarks, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate or harmful to other users, drivers, or our platform.
Repeated Violations: Repeatedly violate policies or ignore warnings, which may result in prolonged or permanent account suspension.
Consequences of Suspension or Termination:
Upon suspension or termination, your access to the platform and any associated services will cease immediately. We are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from such actions. You may be restricted from creating a new account or accessing certain features if you have been suspended or terminated.
Right to Review and Discretion:
We reserve the right to review accounts and decide on appropriate actions at our discretion, including investigating suspicious activity to protect the safety and integrity of our platform and users.
Tobago FastRide reserves the right to modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any updates will become effective immediately upon posting within the app or on our official website. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
Your continued use of our services following the posting of updates signifies your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should refrain from using the platform. We encourage you to review the Terms & Conditions regularly to understand your rights and responsibilities.

Your Responsibility:

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Trinidad and Tobago. Any disputes, claims, or legal actions arising out of or relating to these Terms, your use of the platform, or any services provided shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad and Tobago. Users agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts and waive any jurisdictional or venue defenses that may arise.
